Still waiting on appetizers since we ordered 45 minutes ago so disappointed
Slow, slow, slow....
I was just told there isn't! -(
No, they do not.
Just went to Winter hours.
The service was great! The food on the other hand was not. Paying $14 for a hamburger that was supposed to be cooked rare and include bacon came cooked well done ( I believe it was a frozen patty vs fresh) and minus the bacon....i chose sweet potato fries and got the stale kettle chips instead....the fries came after the fact and were good. The coffee was good. Kicker came when we all got sick....throwing up sick(the only thing we had in common was this meal) I guess I expected more for the price. Our local hosts were embarrassed....
Great little bar. Great burgers, pizza and friendly staff.
We've been coming here for years. Nice place and good food. My son said his Turkey Melt or whatever it was called was the best sandwich ever. Staff is very nice. Have pool tables and shuffle board. Highly recommend this place.
Took our boat to the harbor to eat here but they don’t allow dogs on the patio so we were turned away. Place was completely dead on a Friday evening.
There’s nothing like a night at the Alden bar and grill if you’re not listening to Willy Jam, he’s a local favorite at most of the establishments.. Good food, good drinks, good times, check it out.
The name is a misnomer since they don't brew beer, though they said they will in the future. We went on a Friday night which happened to be their Fish Fry night, which we had. We only got 2 small pieces of fish, which were good, but not filling. So we ordered an extra platter to split. Service was good.
Place was much better when it was Alden bar.Very limited menu, food was mediocre and only one person we dealt with actually had a smile and friendly personality. We loved taking the boat to Alden and eating at the Alden bar but unfortunately we won’t be back. Friday night at 7 and only half full. Very disappointed
Great little spot in Bellaire. Just had an omelete brunch and mimosa! I'll be back to drink some Two Hearted ale tonight!
The place is awesome the food is excellent, had a Bellaire brown on draft
Miracle Burger may be the best bar burger I've had. We split it but our server still gave us enough fries and cole slaw for two people (and that was *good* cole slaw).
Food wasn't good, took awhile just to be acknowledged just for drinks. Manager Girl was rude. Couldn't sit outside on the deck because it smells like sewage!! Won't waste my money again there!
Food Alr takes forever but not worth the price burger are the only decent things here, I have had better experiences else where
Service has slowly improved, however the food safety and quality is borderline.Sadly, I’ve had two bouts with lower GI issues after eating Salads, and Fish.
Great food and atmosphere.
I had a beer (25oz) and the artichoke spinach dip. What you would expect. The beer was a good price. Staff was excellent, good view, and bar games, dancing, karoake, on different nights. Sounds like a fun place.
We went here on July 23. It did not seem overly crowded. We ordered our food by 7:00. At 8:15, we still did not have our food. We were offered chips and salsa and told our food would be up soon. At 8:30 the table next to us, who ordered AFTER us, got their food and we STILL did not have our food. So, at 8:45, we left without ever getting our food. The beverage service was fine, we just NEVER got our food. A restaurant surely should be able to get food out in under an hour. All we ordered were 2 buffalo chicken wraps.
Very pleasant waitress. Our Hamburger was to die for. Cooked just right. Very homey inside. Fries where homemade.
Waited for someone to seat us on a Saturday at 8pm. The restaurant was busy but not packed, beautiful evening in the high 70s, to be told the patio was closed. Seriously? We left and went to the dockside to enjoy the weather. Not driving 4 hours from downstate to pay to sit indoors when it's only nice 3 months per year.
This was our second choice on a Saturday night because the other restaurant was closed for the season. There were not many of us in the restaurant. In fact 6 patrons total. Their special was prime rib which we took a chance on because they said it was the first time they ever offered it. It was excellent. The young man that waited on us did a great job. We will return next time were at our house up north.
Great food! Everything was cooked perfect!! I loved how nice everything was. It was not a trashy restaurant!! I would definitely come again!
Great food. Beers cold. Nice place for whole family.
We ordered the burgers here, the Mushroom Swiss and the Mill Seasoned burger, it was delicious. I’d say one of the yummy places to eat in town.
I am giving this two stars instead of one because the beer is cold at least. The food is fine, nothing great. The kitchen needs help big time, it takes waaaayyyy too long to get the food out.
The food is a little pricey, but it is worth it. We go once a week and each time I try something new and I have never been disappointed. The burgers are juicy and so good, the BLT with the garlic sauce...yummie!! The staff, you couldn’t ask for friendlier people. If you want good food, you gotta get it here!!!
So all was good. ...staff was friendly, welcoming. ....played shuffle board, a couple beers, gonna order food, 'played some music'..............then, 3:00 shift change. ...nothing short than being TERRORIZED TO LEAVE.........so we did.....absolutely uncalled for, appalling, deliberate, childish. ........our thoughts, leave before 3:00..........
This place's food is OK, but greasy. The employees are miserable and as a result provide terrible service. Would recommend trying, but it is nothing special.
Visited today for lunch, and while the food was good the service was incredibly slow. We arrived at 1:30, drinks ordered (2 waters and 1 Coke) and recieved them promptly. We ordered 3 wraps, 2 west coast and one buffalo chicken with mac and cheese side. We didn't receive our food until 2:20. The waters were refilled, however the coke was not. Very disappointed in the service and timing of this establishment.
It's changed a bit here, but they still have shuffleboard soooooooo.... can you really go wrong?
Great breakfast menu, service, and food! Will definitely return!
First night of new menu 10/19/19 absolutely terrible. Nachos had no meat and they used cheese wiz! Buffalo dip was over powered with blue cheese. Only thing decent were the pretzel bites. The old Alden Bar and Grill menu was soooo much better. Won't go back unless they make some serious changes! Too much really good competition in the area.. very disappointed.. this place has a long way to go to come up to the standards of Red Mesa and Pearl's hopefully they figure it out
Very slow service. Did not let us know why. Food was decent after such a long wait.
The food was greasy, soggy, and sad. The kicker is that we were given a container of dressing with an expired date written on it. (Yuck.) While the food itself deserves zero stars, I'm upping this rating to two because our waitress was super nice and helpful. She was great. The food, not so much.
Love this place. Professional and very kind employees. So helpful! I am sure we will be back again. Nice and clean atmosphere. Thank you💜
Food is great. Service is very very slow. We weren’t asked for our orders until an hour after we sat down. Spent 2.5 hours waiting for the waitress to come back and take orders, bring drink refills, and 20 minutes for the check. It was not busy. Again, the food is great but the service needs some work.
Some good advice, nice help.
Great Service, great food and drinks. I had stopped here with a friend on our way back to Bellaire from Traverse City, just for an appetizer and a quick drink. It was late, and there were only maybe a handful of other guests there. Our Server, Ryan was the absolute BEST. I have had her as my server once before when the place was PACKED; and I had great service on both occasions!
Great place for a good breakfast or lunch. The wraps and burgers are very tasty. I only go in on the off season so the service is top notch every time I've been in. Very friendly and know what they are doing. Haven't been in for dinner yet but I hear the prime rib is on point. Seems to be getting better every time I've been in since the new management took over. Looking forward to what they have in store for the future. I'll be back.
Haven't been here since it changed hands, but it wasn't great before. After reading the laundry list of negative reviews here, I have to wonder... why? Why, with this prime location and setup, is the management having such a hard time providing even mediocre service and food? Over priced food would be easier to stomach if it was at least great tasting and the service was exceptional. The chance to leave a good 1st impression for TLBC is fading fast...
Didn't like the food selection could use more bar food
The waitress that was working Thursday evening deserves accolades! She made our dining experience great. The place was clean and well kept and the food was good
Corned beef hash is a delicatessen, especially when cooked right, imho. You can eat as much as you want in the buffet!
Excellent hamburger and very efficient waiter who was also had great PR skills.
Cook bar, didn't try the beer but they put a lot of effort into the food. Do try the jalapeño poppers!
Great pizza on the patio on a wonderful day in Northern Michigan.
Three strike rule applies here. While our breakfast was very tasty, it was very obvious this was no longer the AB. This is our first time here under new ownership. Heck we didn't even know the AB changed hands. Had we arrived for breakfast at our normal time between 7-8am, we would have gone elsewhere. But we arrived right at 9am and became curious why the restaurant was closed, I asked trusty Google for restaurant hours & was directed to the new bar name. Ok. The hours indicate they open at 9am but the doors were still locked. Strike One. The doors stayed locked until 9:15. Strike Two. As a restaurant, doors should be open no later than 8:59am and coffee should be ready to serve. The service was descent and food was good. So we will give it another try. Just not for breakfast since 9am is generally too late for us.
Too expensive . food was ok. Touristy spot.
Incredible burgers and fries, great service.
Delicious pizza great beer
The food was good. The name online is misleading. This is for sure more like a cafe with beer than a "beer co." Staff was friendly and prompt
